3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A production company is generally involved in producing either recorded or live entertainment. The production company for films usually provides money, which is why they set a budget.
As our film would be classed as a low budget film such as Kidulthood or adulthood, our film would be like likely to be distributed by a smaller production company.
We have done some research into both small and large distribution companies. A production company like Revolver entertainment would be the ideal distributor for our media product. The company has produced many low budget hits, including Kidulthood, Payback Season, Anuvahood and Sket. They have also won awards for their work. In 2011 they won best integrated campaign.
Revolver  Entertainment distributes films similar to ours, the posters for similar films demonstrate they know how to connect with our target audience.

Small Institutions:
·         Revolver Entertainment- Payback Season
·         Spectrecom Films Ltd- The Cumberland Hotel
·         Big Talk Productions- Attack the Block

A larger film company may be Columbia Pictures (part of Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc ) They have produced many films that fall into a genre similar to ours. They would not be ideal to distribute our media product, because they are used to producing higher budget films with well known actresses and directors, such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Larger Institutions:
·         Warner Brothers- Project X
·         Paramount- No Strings Attached
·         Columbia Pictures- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
