Se7en Opening Credit Analysis
For my opening credit analysis, i have chosen the Thriller Se7en. Throughout the credits, it is seen that a plan is being developed. There are close-ups of needles and scissors being used to sew something together. there is also an actor blocking bits out of a book with a black marker.
There is an idea of a sinster and alarming character at the beginning of the film. The use of mechanical sounds, flashing images and cross cutting shows all the different props to give the audience the idea that the character may be a bad person and seems like his character is a mystery by the use of close-ups on the props he is using and his hands.
The music used in the opening scene is non-diegetic and no dialogue is used, it is completly silent and adds the feeling of mystery. It is used to create an overall aggrrevating emphasis to the film.
