Audience Research

We handed a number of questionnaires to students between the ages of 16 and 19. We asked a range of age groups, genders and ethnic groups.

From the questionnaire we found that the audience prefer to watch British Drama movies rather than any other genre. The audience were more likely to watch a film if they watched the trailer and enjoyed it. For the majority of students the opening sequence wasn't as important as the rest of the film.

This response shows that our opening sequence should have the same effect of a drama such as 'Adulthood', so the audience would be more likely to watch our film. Also our opening sequence should have a sense of mystery as the audience prefer the main plot not to be given away in the opening sequence.
